cPanel’s Full Backup function has been disabled for shared hosting accounts over 5 GB in size. There are several reasons for this:
- Backing up such large accounts requires a lot of system resources and endangers the overall performance of the shared server.
- On the existing shared hosting plans at XonHost, creating a backup larger than 5GB will consume a big portion of the disc space allowed for the account and might lead to unwanted service outage in case the account runs out of space.
- The integrity of such backups cannot be guaranteed.
However, it is easy to create a backup for your account by following the instructions in this article.
Note also that XonHost keeps in-house backups for all servers and accounts, and restore from such backup can be easily performed.
